Raising Public Awareness of Blindness

The second Thursday of October is World Sight Day (October 8, 2020). The annual event was created by the SightFirst Campaign of Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF) in 1998. The goal is to raise public awareness of blindness and visual impairment.

For more than 20 years, Lions Clubs worldwide have used the observance to host eye health education programs. What's more, the organization conducts eye exams and restorative surgeries.
