Treating Blindness With Cell Transplant Therapy

Some 11 million Americans are losing their vision due to macular degeneration. Unfortunately, the leading cause of blindness has no approved treatment options. However, thanks to new advancements in science, doctors are now treating blindness with cell transplant therapy.

Cheri McDaniel has the progressive eye disease macular degeneration. Every year since her diagnosis her eyesight has worsened. She was recently treated with the cell transplant therapy OpRegen. The therapy was a success: it stopped the deterioration of her vision and her vision has improved.
