OUR PROGRAMS
SDCB Offers a Wide Range of Programs
SDCB offers a range of programs and services to empower individuals with visual impairments to live confidently and independently in their daily lives. These services are available at no cost, including transportation to and from the Center. The San Diego Center for the Blind provides vision rehabilitation services at two locations:
- 5922 El Cajon Boulevard, San Diego, California,
- 1385 Bonair Road, Vista, California.
These services include group and individual classes led by qualified instructors and counselors, many of whom are visually impaired themselves.
Clients receive roundtrip transportation to and from our facilities. Typically, students attend classes once a week for six months but can continue until they reach their personal goals.
The core program operates from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Before beginning services, an intake assessment is conducted to establish individual goals. The program manager works with each individual to determine services and create a personalized schedule.
