The San Diego Center for the Blind (SDCB) is the only community-based vision rehabilitation program of its kind in San Diego County. For over 50 years SDCB has been providing vision rehabilitation services to adults with vision loss. Our mission is to assist individuals adjust to their blindness and help them return to living as independently as possible.

Director of Development
Under the direction and supervision of the CEO, the Director of Development will be responsible for the fundraising and communication at SDCB. This would include but not be limited to the comprehensive planning, implementation, management, and oversight of all fundraising, communications, and community relations activities. The CDO works collaboratively and maintains clear and regular communications with the CEO, volunteer leadership, community partners and donors, and support staff. 
This is a full-time exempt senior level management position. The annual pay range is $75,000 - $90,000.
 


Director of Client Services
Under the direction and supervision of the CEO, the Director of Client Services will be responsible for the management of the vision rehabilitation training, counseling and volunteer programs provided by the San Diego Center for the Blind. This individual will establish and manage systems to ensure services are provided at a high degree of quality, safety and efficiency to effectively meet the needs of the clients, staff and volunteers. This is a full-time exempt senior level management position. The annual pay range is $72,000 - $88,000.
 

Orientation and Mobility Specialist
SDCB is hiring a qualified Orientation and Mobility Specialist to provide an individualized instructional program to adults (ages 18 to 90+) with congenital or adventitious vision loss, and possibly other concurrent health conditions, in all areas of orientation and mobility. In this position, you will not only be providing a valuable service, but you will have the opportunity to advocate and conduct training to government and local agencies as well as serving on local government boards and groups to advocate for people with vision impairments. This is a full-time exempt position. The annual pay range is $62,000 - $75,000

Bus Driver
SDCB is hiring part-time drivers to provide transportation to and from our training facilities. Transportation will be provided to our clients who are blind or have changing vision. The vehicles are modern 16 passenger buses with wheelchair accessibility. Candidates to be considered will preferably have a Class B California driver’s license, have 5 years of experience driving buses and be bi-lingual English/Spanish. This is a part-time, non-exempt split shift position averaging 20 - 25 hours per week. The hourly pay range is $15.44 - $17.98.
